Joe assists his clients in developing and securing their intellectual property assets, including acquiring patents and trademarks, protecting trade secrets, and prosecuting intellectual property matters. His clients have a wide variety of technological specialties in the electrical, medical device, and computer arts, including biometric authentication and authorization, cardiac devices, joint replacement technologies, health care information technology, high-speed digital networking applications, project management software applications, and social networking development.
Joe’s technology practice includes work in the electrical, medical device, computer hardware, mechanical, computer software, and business method fields.
Joe also brings real-world engineering experience to inform his legal practice. Prior to becoming an attorney, Joe was a hardware engineer at a computer network company. Joe’s engineering experience includes technologies such as digital switching, high-speed telecommunications, local and wide area network design, digital integrated circuit design, analog circuit design, semiconductors, and computer programming. He is also adept in e-commerce applications.
Joe received his J.D., cum laude, from George Washington University Law School (2002), his M.S.E.C.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University (1994), and his B.S.E.C.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering, cum laude, from Carnegie Mellon University (1992). He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
