A substantial portion of Pierre’s work is directed to patent portfolio strategy development and deployment, patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, due diligence and licensing matters in the pharmaceutical, biologic, dietary supplement, chemical, medical device and other health and life sciences fields.
Pierre has extensive basic science experience and holds a Ph.D. in molecular pharmacology, and focused his research on the development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer. He has been published in a number of peer-reviewed journals and his research has been presented at numerous national meetings. His scientific and technological experience include pharmacology, pharmaceuticals and drug development, molecular biology, biochemistry and organic chemistry.
As an executive associate at the Pittsburgh Life Science Greenhouse, a life science company formation and capital investment firm, Pierre focused on the therapeutics, diagnostics and medical device segments, assisting early-stage companies with business development, fundraising, and business, commercial and regulatory strategy.
Pierre also has an active pro bono practice. His pro bono practice includes providing legal counseling to a nonprofit documentary film maker in conjunction with Pittsburgh Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
Pierre received his M.S. in Pharmacology, with honors, at the University of Bath (U.K.), his Ph.D. in Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and his J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in the U.S. District Court of the Western District of Pennsylvania.
